i wish i could have seen pink floyd on the great salt lake. i love his story. he lived at tracy aviary but escaped to the shores of the gsl in 1988. he thrived on the brine shrimp, as evidenced by his strikingly deep pink color. he hasn't been heard of since the migration of 2005.
so it's storming on the lake
little waves our bodies break

i forgot to tell y'all
about the visit we made to reptile rescue. truth is, it wasn't just reptiles. it was every reptile you could think of (monitor lizard, anaconda, boa constrictor, python, rattlesnake, tortoise, bearded dragon, alligator, red-eared slider, etc, etc), amphibians out the yin and the yang (spade-foot toad, chorus frog, salamander, etc, etc) a bird that had a loud mouth, raccoon, coyote, silver fox, red fox, skunk (i pet a baby skunk. bucket list: complete), four rottweilers ready to destroy ("he's only bit four people this year," he says as he shows us a half-inch-deep gash on his left ring finger), a pit-lab ("he won't let anyone within three feet of me"), a room we didn't get to see ("the master bedroom is my venomous room") with tarantulas, scorpions and other delightsome creatures, and on and on.
this dude rescues animals on his own dime. he's a badass.

yes, i took this quiz.
and yes, the results are correct.

Omar Little... As one of Baltimore's most notorious stick-up artists, Omar Little brings another element to the game: the hunt. With his long duster, battle armor and the sweep of his shotgun, he adds an additional element of risk for Baltimore's dealers. Uncomfortable with profanity and careful to rob only dealers and others in the game who can have no complaint to police, Omar shows particular pride when taking off the stronger organizations.

every full day.
the last week or so has been full of people who remind me to live every day at top enthusiasm.
effervescence.
joie de vivre.
vitality.
passion.
raison d'ĂȘtre.
vibrancy.
zeal.
poetry slam with Michael Dimitri and the other poets (why AREN'T we here?)
Terry Tempest Williams (her article on the BP spill)
Katie Lee (91-year-old sticks it to the man)
Sufjan Stevens (sincerity, and a song i am loving)
Subhankar Banerjee (exuberance)
Alexandra Fuller (you never know who you're waking up)

the takeaways.
i have a crush on 65 year old woman who is deeply enthusiastic about geomorphology.
pleistocene rewilding is not a figment of my imagination and the nine-banded armadillo is a proposed species of the project.
sandbar willow has another name: coyote willow.
and finally, i don't know about this blog.
